PRESS: Govt approves sale of Kaluga-based Volkswagen plant

MOSCOW, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has approved the sale of Volkswagen’s Kaluga-based plant to car dealer Avilon, Vedomosti business daily reported on Thursday citing two sources familiar with the decision.

“The government’s commission for control over foreign investment has approved the sale of Volkswagen’s plant near Kaluga… The asset will be sold to car dealer Avilon,” the newspaper reported.

Another source said that Avilon is in talks with China’s car producer Chery on possible production partnership.
